With the Vulcanus Wall Sconce, Clarence Mallari explored his captivation with sunrays. Rather than reflecting the luminosity in shape, he wanted to present the sun flares in reflections on surrounding surfaces. The rays are made of quarter-inch metal bars that are welded on one-by-one, so this is a complex design that requires extra time to create. Made of wrought iron in a satin black finish, the dark gray sconce has a frosted glass diffuser that further softens the light.
